Brooke
Biography
Oakland, California singer-songwriter Brooke began his music career as a student at the University of California at Santa Barbara. Brooke (whose full name is Brooke Heller) fronted garage punk bands in the vein of Bad Religion and the Misfits. It was during his return to UCSB to pursue a master's degree in psychology that he began to write songs as a solo artist, eventually inking a songwriting deal with Warner-Chappell. Brooke moved to Los Angeles and began working on a demo with producers Guy Erez and Emerson Swinford. He was the first signee of Connoisseur Records, a label founded in 2001 by radio executives Jeffrey Warshaw and Mike Driscoll. Brooke's debut album Coming Home was released on May 20th and reflects his disparate tastes growing up, combining classic rock with the groove of soul and the bounce of hip hop. ~ Christina Saraceno, Rovi
